Campus PECAT youth are also responsible for Operation Store Front, a tobacco retailer survey, as well as national awareness campaigns, Kick Butts Day (KBD), Great American Smokeout (GASO), and World No Tobacco Day. PECAT members are bilingual and provide important information in Spanish. A new PECAT activity is PECAT Prevention Puppetry used to present positive messages to K-3rd grade students. COMMUNITY PARTNERS COALITION

VISION: Together we can make a difference
Realizing that in today’s complex community environment no one single agency can begin to combat the problems and issues associated with substance abuse, SCCADA joined alliances with other community agencies, organizations and members. The Community Partners Coalition is a regional collaborative of community agencies, law enforcement, media, health care agencies, social service agencies, parents, and youth. The primary focus of this coalition is to engage the communities and agencies in a partnership to address the problems of substance abuse by youth. In 2001, SCCADA was awarded the Drug Free Communities Support Program Grant sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). In 2006, SCCADA was awarded an additional five year grant from ONDCP and SAMHSA to continue the efforts of the coalition.
